The Shopping Spree

It's your lucky day! You have won $1500.00 in a contest to go shopping at the mall.

You have to spend at least $1492.00 of the $1500.00 using the following contest rules.You must spend the money following the guidelines below.

• $150.00 on shoes (Shoes)
• $300.00 on clothes (Clothes)
• $50.00 of the money on one (just 1 item in this category) nice present for a friend (Friend)*
• $500.00 on sound/music/electronic items (Electronic)
• $100.00 on jewelry/sports equipment; on one (just 1 item in this category) (Bling/SE)*
• $175.00 on presents for your family (Family)
• $50.00 on food at the mall while you are shopping (Feed)
• $175.00 on whatever else you want at the mall (Else)
• (* - you only have to buy one item in these two categories FRIEND and BLING/SE)

Some other Contest Rules

• No two things in a category (like shirts) can be the same kind of item.
• Calculate tax (10.25%) and show it in its own cell.
• Buy at least three (3) items in each category.
• Spend at least $1492.00 of the $1500.00
• You must include the URL for the items that you have purchased for your spree.
  • type in the description of the item first in your spreadsheet
  • go to the place where the price is listed (online)
  • click on the web address/url. EDIT>Select All>Copy
  • go back to the spreadsheet. Click on the cell that has the item that you are buying.
  • go to INSERT>HYPERLINK
  • then in the first open space, press the APPLE KEY/COMMAND KEY + "V" to paste the url

In Your Spreadsheet

• Show the total beginning balance ($1500.00)
• Show the beginning balance in each category.
• List each thing bought in each category.
• Show totals spent in each category
• Spend within $1.00 of the total in each category. (Example: Spent $149 on shoes.)
• Create a balance column that tells how much of the $1500 is left after you spend the money in each category.
• Show the tax spent in each category.
• Show a grand total of all the money spent.
• Show the money left after the grand total
